In most places, people have been plowing their fields for many generations, and the nutrients in the soil get less and less, and that's why some fields become infertile. So, to bring back the fertility, we are now using the tool of animals.

Africa Centre for Holistic Management

The Africa Centre for Holistic Management (ACHM) in Zimbabwe has been active for more than 20 years managing and participating in a variety of projects. Our work with international development organizations and local villagers has addressed the needs of food security and provided for local ownership of the assets and benefits produced by these projects. Likewise, the Africa Centre's work with agricultural producers has demonstrated how Holistic Management® improves natural resource management and the ability of people to produce a living from the land while improving land health.

ACHM supports a host of valuable initiatives, including two major projects, Dimbangombe Ranch and the Hwange Land Restoration Project. The Africa Centre is also home to the Dimbangombe College of Wildlife, Agriculture and Conservation Management, which manages the Hwange Land Restoration Project, provides training in Holistic Management and supports key research projects.

With HMI's assistance the Africa Centre became a fully independent entity in 2009.
